In this position you will:
Providing leadership and supervising the employees and daily operations of facility-based Patient Access Services. Functional areas that report to this position could include IP/OP and ED registration, Financial Counseling, as well as others as assigned. The supervisor reports to the Director or Manager of Patient Access Services.
KEY
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee day-to-day work of Registration and Financial Counseling functions.
2. Ensure accurate, timely, and complete demographic and financial information is gathered.
3. Identify and communicate issues, backlogs, or opportunities that will directly impact patient satisfaction, patient throughput and Financial Clearance.
4. Assist with research and create recommendations to maximize patient experience, and streamline day-to-day operations to improve financial performance as needed.
5. Ensure team is monitoring account workload daily through workflow management.
6. Support and assist in department function as needed based on volume and workload.
7. Comply with all federal, state, and Joint Commission requirements.
8. Develop and maintain super user capabilities in Epic applications and all other related information systems, tools, technologies, and processes; assist other employees as needed to ensure all tools are fully utilized to create an efficient and effective department.
9. Create a work environment for employees through team building, coaching, constructive feedback, work delegation, personal example and goal setting that encourages creativity, open dialogue on work issues, professional growth, and a consistent, high level of performance; encourage and support employee decision-making within his or her scope of responsibilities.
10. Deliver positive patient experience.
11. Coordinate with Patient Access Services Director/Manager and other functions as appropriate to reduce Patient Access denials across the system.
12. Adhere to Piedmont organizational policies and procedures for relevant location and job scope.
13. Perform any special assignments as requested.
Required qualifications for this position include:
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
High School diploma or GED.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Four (4) years of progressively responsible work experience required.
ADDITIONAL PREFERRED
Qualifications:
An Associate's or Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university preferred. At least five (5) years of related Revenue Cycle healthcare experience, preferably within PAS preferred. At least two (2) years of supervisory experience preferred. Certification with Healthcare Financial Management Association, or Certified Revenue Cycle Representative preferred. Previous Epic experience.
